*** Rising tour ***

Personnel: Blackmore, Powell, Dio, Carey, Bain.

Notes: Another day another killer Mr Peach recording from Rainbow’s Japanese tour of 1976. The recording is in fact superb, well balanced with all instruments well captured and clear, although the audience is very into the performance it does not interfere with the recording only adding the final element of atmosphere. Mr. Peach managed to capture so many great sounding recordings and this one is no different and is among the best of the tour. The same setlist is played as is with all the dates on the tour but this to me is a special night indeed. After the Over The Rainbow intro the band crashes into Kill The King, Ronnie sounds a little behind the group but quickly catches up and they deliver yet again an aggressive version of the song.

Released Pressed CD -> EAC -> Flac.

Sound Quality: Excellent sound quality. Taken from master tape. This is the different source from other bootlegs...<-(Info taken from original info file).

Notes: The Wanderer from Tarantura documents Aerosmith’s first ever concert in Japan. The first date of the Japanese Tour was originally scheduled for January 28th in Tokyo but was cancelled due to unknown reasons.

This is another excellent recording from Mr. Peach. Even though it is a bit distant, the quality of his recordings always have a certain “punchiness” to them making them very enjoyable. The performance is a bit sloppy in places, perhaps the band were still getting comfortable in their foreign surroundings but Aerosmith has always been a little rough around the edges even on their good nights. What they do bring to the table is a good energetic show that comes from the band’s ability to really let loose and go for it. As with most Mr. Peach tapes, the recording is very complete with no loss of music. (Collectors music reviews)

Aerosmith January 29, 1977 Gumma, Japan/Maebashi Sports Center [2CD/newly surfaced/complete AUD] "The Wanderer". Alright Aerofreaks, here it is! I believe this to be a newly surfaced recording of the bands first night in Japan on January 29, 1977! Released by Tarantura in 2011, this recording was made by the inimitable Mr. Peach. I beleive that bits and pieces of this show have surfaced over the years, but never in this quality or this complete.

This was GENEROUSLY sent to me by the ever popular and wonderful fuwafuwatime! I was asked to pass this on by fuwafuwatime for all of you Aeroheads to enjoy for years to come! Lets give fuwafuwatime a "hip hip hooray" and lots of praise! Maybe even a personal message of thanks might be nice! Sit back and enjoy this lost gem!Aerosmith Maebashi Sports Center, Gunma, Japan 29th January 1977

*** 11th US Tour - first leg ***

Personnel: Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, John Bonham.

Notes: Sources: (Disc 1,2&3) stereo audience; (Disc 4&5) two stereo audiences; (Disc 6) two stereo audiences; (Disc 7,8&9) stereo audience

This is probably the only show in the Led Zeppelin collection that is better known for a visual than the music. Led Zeppelin, the band, were always proud that no matter how outrageous their behavior, the attention, or anything else, the music was always center stage. Not tonight.

This show is most famous, and mostly discussed, as "the night Jimmy Page wore the Stormtrooper costume." And that's a shame. This is a really great show. Led Zeppelin had been to Chicago before, and had never really turned in a great performance there for several reasons, including Plant's case of the flu (1970?) and Jimmy's broken finger (1973?) - Led Zeppelin felt they owed Chicago one, even though Jimmy wasn't feeling well on this night either, whether from sickness or stoned-ness. And Chicago got a whale of a show. The setlist is tremendous, and the performance inspired, with classics like Ten Years Gone and Achilles Last Stand dominating the very long set.

This set is recommended to the die-hard Zeppelin collectors only. The average collector would consider this a bit of a rough ride. Until new sources or soundboards surface from these nights, this will probably be the definitive and maybe only updated release of these shows. Considering the source tapes; a nice job and an excellent presentation.

*** Sound+Vision Tour ***

Personnel: David Bowie - vocals, guitar, saxophone, Adrian Belew - guitar, backing vocals, Erdal Kizilcay - bass guitar, backing vocals, Rick Fox - keyboards, backing vocals, Michael Hodges - drums .

Notes: Lineage: original silver CDs --> EAC --> FLAC. Cover art is included. (Note specially the scratched-out label numbers on the CDs! So these are really >>bootlegs<< to the core.)

Note on Beethoven's #9 Symphony: I think we came to the conclusion, that the inclusion of this particular intro (taken from Clockwork Orange OST) is tolerated in the torrents. Info taken from Bassman's Site: This re-issue is a "killer"!

The cover is made as an LP fold out cover in CD size, and each disc has a blue and white picture inner sleeve. Great and highly appreciated! The same excellent sound quality as on the Japanese original has been maintained. Same as the CD PARIS AU PRINTEMPS (1990). algonet.se/~bassman/bootlegs/index.html

The additional text at Bassman's Site refers to the cover art of PARIS AU PRINTEMPS, not of VISIONS AND SOUNDS. Personal note: In my current sharing mood of original silvers of Bowie boots, I originally wished to share my favourite boot from 1990: Rock In Rio. However, since user dan_augen beat me on this, I selected another one. This is a very early show of this fantastic tour. The set list and the performances of the songs changed a bit till the later part (as on Rock In Rio).

Therefore this early show is very interesting. Particularly 'Golden Years' is nicely performed. Unfortunately, Bassman's quality rating "excellent sound quality" is not true IMHO. Judge for yourself with the attached sample. Compared with other releases from this tour, it is hard to believe that this is a soundboard recording. If so, then it is really a bad soundboard..<- Info taken from original .nfo file>.

This title from Godfathers Records contains two recordings from radio broadcast done in the Netherlands. The first nine tracks see the on the European leg of the tour to promote the Highway To Hell album. It comes from a rebroadcast of the show on Dutch radio “Legendarisch Live” May 11, 2007. The recording is excellent stereo and captures the band in fine form. The recording is not complete, three tracks are missing, the opening song Live Wire and the final two songs Rocker and Let There Be Rock. The songs were on the rebroadcast and am not sure the reason for the omission and is unfortunate that they are not present.

The recording is very good to excellent stereo of again a superb performance. It is nice to have great live renditions of Gone Shooting and Rock and Roll Damnation and the final crushing blow of Let There Be Rock closes the cd

Review by Dean Goodman:   Paris was absolutely the best crowd of the European tour so far. I always think of the French as being hipster and affected, but the fans who packed the Stade de France gleefully gave it their all. The cheering for Charlie went on forever, and everyone struck up an impromptu "Woo-hoo!" chant after "Miss You" had ended. The singalong on "You Can't Always Get What You Want" was also outstanding.
As for the Stones, it's clear they have a strong attachment to Paris. After Keith was introduced, he walked a little down the ramp to bask in the cheers before returning to his mike to declare, "Bonsoir! That's all you'll get out of me." But he did say "merci" after the strong reception to "You Got the Silver."

Still, the show was merely "very good" instead of "excellent" as we got in Berlin. As usual, things go off to a wobbly start as their billion-dollar sound system blew out Mick's vocal for the first two lines of "Jumpin' Jack Flash." Or maybe it was karmic retribution for indecorously cutting off the Struts' sound when they appeared to go overtime.

"Midnight Rambler" didn't quite work tonight. It's hard to tell, but judging from his hand gestures Mick wants the song to be played faster and it never really gelled. It was still a powerful 13 minutes and 25 seconds, thanks largely to the efforts of Mick Taylor, who engaged in a sort of musical joust with his singer. But as Mick J. noted at the end in thanking Mick T., "That was great. Well, your bit was great."

The Mick-Mick duel is always a highlight, as is the Mick-Keith face-off at the end of "Out of Control." This interaction, perhaps partly competitive in nature, brings out the best in everybody. But the didn't seem to be as much camaraderie tonight. Maybe Mick is coming down with a cold. He blew his nose several times during the show (and tossed the paper towels on the stage for the roadies to pick up), though his voice seemed fine.

It was great to get three songs from Sticky Fingers, thanks to the addition of "Wild Horses" and the Internet "choice" of "Bitch." But "Wild Horses" suffices perfectly with Keith only on backing vocals. During the choruses, he and Mick were drowned out by Lisa and Bernard. I didn't know it was a Fischer-Bernard composition.

To echo comments on this website, "Gimme Shelter" now has about as much menace as a Celine Dion song. Lisa draping herself all over Ronnie and Keith totally goes against the spirit of the song, reducing it to some low-end cabaret number. But Keith wrote the song, and he seems happy to be pawed by Lisa, so I guess the tacky sideshow will remain. Chuck's honky-tonk piano in "Sympathy" was also inappropriate. I can go either way on his gospel redo of "You Can't Always Get What You Want." But it's hard to escape the feeling that the hired help have staged a revolution of sorts.

Great to see plastic Stones cups in two styles, and the blue Eiffel Tower t-shirt was magnifique. Long lines for the ATMs outside the venue, but no lines at the ATMs inside. D'oh!

Notes: CREAM, London, Klooks Kleek Club, November 15, 1966 off Super rare Dutch Vinyl Boot "A Group called CREAM" on Viktorie Label!

Transfered from the very first issue of a Dutch vinyl Boot, only seen once, I had a repressing on TMQ label before, which didn´t sound as good as the Original pressing, but also only found two times!
This show is, as far as I know, the earliest CREAM concert recording!
It includes more spontaneous playing of short versions of the common CREAM songs than the later shows, plus a rare rendition of "Lawdy Mama", my favorite number here!

The recording sounds great for it´s time, and the show is probably one of the hottest CREAM shows ever! The Viktorie Boot recording is in a real nice "Electronic Stereo" mix also different from the repressing, which used only one channel from the original issue  Although this show is credited to be recorded in Rotterdam, NL, it is well known in the CREAM scene that it is originally recorded in London at the Klooks Kleek Club Nov 1966! The vinyl is in good shape , a near mint cpoy, but the vinyl has a few very small "holes" in it´s surface, but the overall sound is really great!
Enjoy this great piece of CREAM history!.

Notes: Including: 3 Double CDs plus 12 Page Booklet, 24 Page Tour Book and Poster. Recorded Three Nights At The Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY. Everything is included in this download.

Lineage: silver > eac > flac

Pink Floyd played five sold out nights at the Nassau Coliseum on the short but expensive Wall tour in 1980 and 1981. All five were taped from the audience with the final night on February 28th being the most popular show to appear on silver releases.

On Tearing Down The Wall the Godfather label present the three rare middle shows, February 25th, 26th & 27th. The February 26th show was included on the four disc set on Sigma Your Favorite Disguise (Sigma 23), but the second and fourth concerts from the New York shows are making their silver pressed debuts in this box set.

The packaging is also excellent. It includes a mini tour program, liner notes, and a button commemorating the gigs. Tearing Down The Coliseum wall is the most impressive Pink Floyd release since Behind The Wall (Stonehenge Records STBX 022/23/24) came out in 1993, which contained the Feb. 28th show along with the Los Angeles rehearsals and Roger Waters live tracks from the early nineties.

Tearing Down The Coliseum Wall is a tremendous release by Godfather for the art design and mastering of the tapes. Although the February 28th show is the definitive New York Wall show is not included (it’s been out many times before and Godfather wants to tread new ground), all these shows have very good sound and are very exciting to hear. And the packaging makes this one of the most beautiful releases of the year.

*** First Japanese tour (Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Osaka and Kyoto) ***

Personnel: Gary Barden, Michael Schenker, Chris Glenn, Cozy Powell, Paul Raymond.

Notes: With the album “Michael Schenker Group” released in Aug 1980, Michael picked up Paul Raymond
(from UFO), Cozy Powell (from Rainbow), and Chris Glen and began touring from Sept 1980
to Jan 1981. This group quickly went to work recording the 2nd album “MSG” from March – May
1981 and subsequently released in Sept 1981. Schenker picked up touring again in Japan
starting in Aug 1981. The tour dates that I am aware of are

Aug 12, 1981 Budokan, Tokyo: source for officially released One Night at Budokan
Aug 14, 1981 Nagoyashi-Kokaido, Aichi Japan: Mr Peach audience recording on Tarantura
Aug 19, 1981 Festival Hall, Osaka afternoon show: officially released on Walk the Stage
Aug 19, 1981 Festival Hall, Osaka evening show: officially released on Walk the Stage

The show contained in this post is an excellent audience recording from Mr. Peach released on the Tarantura label. It is the complete Aug 14 show including the full introduction clip from Apocalypse Now as well as the full drum solo from Cozy Powell (clocking in at over 11 minutes).

The Japanese audience was familiar with Cozy Power from his Rainbow concerts and greeted Cozy with nearly equal applause as Michael Schenker received during band introductions. If you purchase the 2CD version of One Night at Budokan you also can get the complete Aug 12 show (including Tales of Mystery and Cozy Powell drum solo). The Walk the Stage boxset was released in 2009 and contains the afternoon and evening show of Aug 19, 1981 but are not complete because they do not include the drum solo. There are audience sources of the Aug 19 shows that circulate and contain the entire show

A great hits-filled show from Huey and the News in a hot as hell parking lot. This was a concert put on for RAGBRAI which is a annual bike ride across Iowa that brings all kinds of drunken and road hogging bike riders to our state every year. Why people put on concerts in a parking lot of a nice fairly new air conditioned arena in the middle of July is a mystery to me. I recorded the show and got the hell out of there. Enjoy and please don't complain...it is free after all

Passing along this nice piece of history. Thanks to the person I got it from.

tracks 1-8 April 1967 Stockholm - This is a mono soundboard recording very clear and balanced.
Probably from a flawless vinyl (only very few pops are present at the very beginning of the recording).

tracks 9-11 1966 Unknown Location - This is an FM mono recording clear but with audience noise.
Probably from a vinyl (some pops are present here and there)
